HELP finding a VISA USA-AUS working

I want to go to Australia and work/live for more than 6 months, with the ability to eventually apply for a permanent VISA. I have no idea how to go about this. I have skills on the SOL (I have a BS in Business Admin emphasis in Marketing and I have also worked 2 years in property management) but it says it can take over a year for 175 VISA approval and you must be offshore. I would like to go to Australia in July, what series of VISAs can I get to make this work? Can I start with the WHV 417? What options do I have when that expires? What if I want to work full time? Are there onshore VISA options that I could possibly get a bridging VISA while I await approval?
