  • PIO Card renewal

    Hi,

We live in India and my kids are american born US citizens. They have PIO card, which is valid until 2023. Their US passports were renewed recently and they got a new passport. Should the PIO card also be newed now as the original US passport on which the PIO card was taken renewed ?

We have an urgent foreign travel and don't have much time to do PIO card newal.

    Kindly advice,
    Ram.

    PIO for New born Child

    Hi,

I have to apply new PIO for my new born child.
Effective July 1st 2013 a new agency BLS International has taken over the process for applying the PIO.
I live near Washington DC so instead of mailing all the required documents which also includes original passport, I am going there directly to submit the documents.
Now my question is do I need to take my child and my wife also to submit the documents or only me going there is enough?

One more question I have is I know until and unless I have valid VISA the PIO application might be rejected.
But my VISA is getting expired in another 3 weeks. Processing of PIO takes at least 2 weeks.
Will they reject the PIO application based on the fact that my VISA is getting expired very soon?
I have already applied for extension but it will take another month or 2 to get my approval letter.

    Anybody experienced my situation.

    Thanks

No, they will not reject the PIO application by seeing that your visa is going to expire soon.
