What Food can I bring into India

I will be travelling to India from Ontario Canada in December for 2 weeks to attend a wedding of a friend. I wanted to bring some unpasteurized honey which has been produced from hives that belong to a mutual friend. I was hoping to bring 3 jars (500 ml each) to give as gifts to the people we will be staying with. I have been searching on line to find out if I would be allowed to bring it into the country however I have been unsuccessful in finding out if it is allowed or not.
Any help that you could provide would be greatly appreciated.
