minimum passport validity for travelling to india for Indian Citizen

I am in USA now on H1B. I am relocating to india and my travel date is 22-Apri-2018. my passport expires on July 22, 2018. when I tried to do te online checkin it says that ?Your passport must be valid for at least six months from your arrival date in order to proceed with internet check-in. I just want to check it is the issue with online checkin only or any issues for my travel. my flight is singapore airlines
