This is my doubt, creating this thread to generate an awareness
This is one of the most common problem indians face when they go back from USA or any other country.
As soon as you land, the customs officers and their left and right hands sorround you looot whatever they can.
I would like to know what is the permissible limit ?
What kind of things can we carry ? upto what value of indian currency ?
How many laptops can we carry ?
What documents we need to carry from here ?
How much do we have to pay to the govt ? ( paying to govt is far better than bribing these royal beggars ).
Say if i take a camcorder, 2 laptops, 2 mobile phones and the list grows.
Is there any indian govt site which lists limitations about these goods we carry from here to india ?
Are there any laws regarding this ?
I need to have some valid statements and references with which i would be able to get rid of those guys in the airport ?? ( i should be able to confidentaly fight with them and say that these are the goods i can carry from USA, this is the limit, this is the customs duty which i have to pay indian govt and not to you' :P )
Pls throw some light.
