My fiance who is from Honduras has a work permit or visa of some sort. I met him when he moved into the house next door to where I was living. I have known him for about a year now. He says he is not illegal but he said that he has a type of status that doesn't allow him to come and go. (Sorry, I don't know what the specific type of visa or work permit is - I don't speak a lot of spanish and his english is not really good - maybe someone here can tell me the specific types that there are that are like this - he does welding).
Of course he would like me to meet his mother and see the house he has in Honduras that he is working here to pay for and that his mother lives in - and that we would move to and live in a few years down the road. He suggested I go without him but I'm not comfortable going there by myself. I speak a little spanish - but not much and his mother doesn't speak english. I would have no problem going with him to meet his mother.
Is it possible to get permission to go or change the type of visa or permit that he has? I suppose it probably depends on what type he has but what are the possibilities? I would love to meet his mother in Honduras.
