What are the formalities to be finished in India for US Born Child

Hi All,

My wife is travelling back to India with my baby who was born here. I heard from many people that I have to go to police station and report every six months. Can anyone please let me know what exactly are the formalities. We are planning to continue in India for long time and we may not even come back to US in the nearest future. In that case should I always go to the police station every six months? Or is there any other alternative?? Please help..

No...You need not go to police station for every 6 months. Until he/she become 16 yrs old...I guess it is not required.
