Can I cash my US-salary check in India-pls help

Please let me know Can I cash my salary check in dollars with my Employer's name on it in any of my Indian bank accounts.

I work in USA.How much does the indian banks charge for this and will there be any charges from the Employer's bank because of currency conversion or any other reason.

I know there are other ways of sending online but I need this information as well.Please help..
