Canada work permit (have job offer, software developer) from USA while on B2 visa

Hi,

I have a job offer for the position of Software Engineer from a Silicon Valley company who is opening an office in Vancouver. Before going to Canada, I wish to visit a relative of mine who stay in the US. I would be on B-2 visitor visa during that period.

Would it be possible for me to get my Canadian Work Permit done from the US while I am there on B-2 visa legally and within my I-94 validity period?
