Police and Medical certificate

I am on H1 visa and planning to apply for canadian PR. Does anyone know if we have to submit a police certificate and medical along with initial application or later in the process. Also is there a standard format for police certificate from India? Any help is greatly appreciated.

You DO NOT have to obtain police certificates from INDIA. That will be taken care by the Canadian Immigration people.

However,

You must submit a police certificate from FBI / USA with your initial application in Original.

you will have to go for medicals only after you hear from the CIC.

Police clearance certificate may be needed if stay exceeds a limit

You may be required to submit police clearance certificate from every country if have stayed for more than 6 months period.

If needed for india, please ask your local person to visit Police Commissioner's office.
