  • Moving US to Canada

    Hi,

How a US green card holder can stay as permanent resident in Canada ? and if I want to bring my parents in Canada then what will the procedure ?

Actually, getting citizenship of US takes at least 3 years if you are married with a US citizen then few month more to get passport in hands. I want my parents to live with another 1 year will take for their immigration visa process. So I am looking to select Canada as option if that process is early.

    Canada

Do you have a Canadian Visa?
Have you ever been to Canada?

You can enter Canada through several various pathways, and at some point become eligible to apply for PR status dependant on the pathway used.

Hi!i think you can enter Canada as you are g.c holder.but you can't stay long.I mean if you are planning to live there you might need to apply as immigrant.but if you just plan to stay shortly, you can probably do that.

You'll need to get a job offer from a Canadian employer. The employer then needs a labor market opinion (LMO), saying essentially that giving the job to a foreigner will not adversely affect the Canadian workforce.

You can move to Canada but for a short period I guess. And I agree with what mark said. You need to check out the legal aspects in the first place. There are good immigration lawyers out there in Canada.

My uncle is also interested in moving US to Canada and need help about the visa advice. Is there any member who can give him a proper method to acquire a visa and which things are needed to get a visa without a green card? If you have any suggestion fro him then suggest him in simple words because it is his first experience to move to another region permanently.

              school in Canada

              Hello,

I was recently admitted to a Doctoral program in Ontario. My wife and I are planning on driving up to the border (washington state) to apply for visa's there. A couple of questions:

              Can we do that?

I received link from the admissions department

The link says that americans can apply for a visa at the border with the correct paper work.

              Or is this old?

And do I have to apply through the online process or through the mail?

              Any advice helps.

                Hi,

I do no agree with this if that was a suggestion. Canada values the nationals / residents of USA. How come they don't differ between peoples who are coming from different locations and one from USA.

I am talking about to withdraw US nationality / residency and grab Canadian citizenship / residency. Do they have any criteria for this?

                Zain

                  Hi,

I am looking for some advice on immigration in Canada. My mom who is at Barcelona would like to pay me a visit. How do I go about applying a visiting visa for her? Can someone break down the process so that I am able to understand it in a better way. My mom is planning to visit during October. How many days will it take for the entire process? Do I have to consult an immigration firm like Green and Spiegel LLP in Toronto just in case I get confused with how things are? Any help will be much appreciated. Thanks.
