Visa Stamping by USA consulate in India

We are planning to go on vacation in June 2006. Recently, my visa has been extended till 2007. So I was told that I need to get stamped again on my passport by US consulate. I have the following questions. Can some one answer these ?

1. Earlier my stamping was done in Mumbai (All our passports bear Bombay address), but this time I don't need to go to Mumbai, so can I get my stamping done in Chennai ? Is this allowed ?


2)Any different procedure need to followed for the second time stamping in compared to the first time stamping ?


3). What are all the documents I need to carry for the second time stamping . I hold H1b visa accompained by wife(H4) and a child (H4) ?


4). Is this the site where I need to pay the fee and take an appointment for stamping? If that is the case, I see a link to a mumbai consulte and the same is not availble for Chennai consulate, why like that ?

For Q1, the answer is if you have been at US on H 1B andyou want to stamp again you can take up interviews i nany consulate...teh site says "H and L visa renewals for applicants who are already working in the U.S and are returning to their jobs can apply in any of the four consulates in India"

A4. If you are clear with Answer 2 stated by me above, the nyou get answer for thsi too..The site is common for all consulates but this VFS company is mumbai based company but has office in all 4 metros. For the avaialble dates to check you can use the bottom most link called "Click here for an estimate of current availability of visa interview appointments." just above the pictures in the home page of vfs-usa.co.in
