    Hi Guys,

I came across this absolutely brilliant forum where I am confident all my doubts will be answered and I decided to enroll immediately.

Lately I have been in touch with an immigration consultancy in the UAE who are offering a PR to Canada to potential candidates for a sum of USD 1800/-. I would like to know if the company is legit and what are my chances & requirements based on the below queries :

I work in hospitality with 6 yrs of experience, two of them being at the supervisory level.

    1. Is it advisable to go through an immigration consultant or are they just going to rip me off and waste my time ?
    2. What are the documents required including attestation - I am an Indian national

Thank you for your time and I look forward to your suggestions and advice.

    Best regards,

    VG

    Hi gulati.vishal,

Only authorized representatives can charge a fee or receive any other type of payment to represent or advise you on a Canadian immigration or citizenship proceeding or application. Immigration consultants must be in good standing of the Immigration Consultants of Canada Regulatory Council. - you can also get all the forms and information that you need to apply for a visa or citizenship.

You can find out if the immigration consultant you've been in touch with is in good standing with the ICCRC

      1. Give us the name of the "consultant" in UAE offering you services. Perhaps someone on this forum knows something about that entity.
      2. There is no regulation of Canadian immigration advice or fees solicitation if the agent is outside of Canada. But Canadian-registered migratory agents do work outside of Canada (and Australia, also). Verify his credentials with the Canadian Immigration authority.
      3. Frankly, the official Canadian government immigration sites provide excellent information for doing this yourself (unless the USCIS and U.S. State Department sites for those seeking U.S. visas).
