2 years back I migrated to Canada in a visitor visa. I was trying to stay back in Canada to join some post graduation courses. With the help of my friend who is working in a law firm here, I got Canadian study permit in Toronto. The permit will expire within 6 months. Before that I would like to apply for permanent residence here. I am trying to get a job here. Can I apply for permanent residence now. What are the requirements for it? Is it possible to apply straight through immigration department without consulting any legal firms? I have no idea about immigration procedures in Canada. That is why I am asking here. Somebody has got any knowledge in this, please help me.

Apply for permanent residence before study permit expires
If there are no visa condition on your student Visa then you can apply for the onshore PR. It is not mandatory to apply via law firm unless you are not sure about the process. You can send your details at "[email protected]" for detailed eligibility check of your profile.
