My brother in law has a canadian PR. will i get some extra points for that?

Are you applying through skilled worker class?
'Brother' is on the list of family that you can gain a few extra points but Im not sure if Brother in Law is acceptable. I would assume that you would only get extra points if the family member living in canada was a blood relative.

This is the list of family members on the CIC website that qualify's:

Family in Canada, (parent, grandparent, aunt, uncle, sister, brother, niece, nephew, child or grandchild, spouse or common-law partner who is a Canadian citizen or permanent resident living in Canada)
