Canadian Immigration - Health Issues

Dear All,

How is the immigration process affected if the candidate has a disease such as High Blood Pressure? Even though he/she qualifies point wise i.e. they have 67 points or more. Is it possible to have immigration rejected on the basis of High Blood Pressure? Any help will be highly appreciated.

Firstly, having high blood pressure is not considered to be a disease, its more of a personal medical condition.

As far as I know if your being considered for the issue of a visa, it is mandatory to undertake a medical examination before they can confirm your are fit and healthy to live in their country.
The medical is more for people who have serious illnesses and contagious disease's that could potentially threaten Canada's and Canadians health and lives.

They would reject someone who could bring a disease like this into the country obviously.

As Curt has indicated the problem arises solely when one has a condition that will heavily tax the healthcare system or a condition that creates a situation in which the general public will be exposed to some type of infection created by the individual. Rest assured that your condition is minor but for you personally I recommend that in order to enjoy a healthy and happy long life, you should engage in some cardio and strength training and do things to relieve your level of stress. The problem is not in your ability to immigrate but in your ability to enjoy a full lifesytle. please take care of your health!

medical conditions for denial

i see that high blood pressure is not considered a disease but a condition. what about other health issues i.e., diabetes, heart disease, asthma, m.s., and other chronic conditions. are any of these grounds for denial? how can you appeal?

Hello,

I was recently admitted to a Doctoral program in Ontario. My wife and I are planning on driving up to the border (washington state) to apply for visa's there. A couple of questions:

Can we do that?

I received this link from the admissions department: http://laws.justice.gc.ca/eng/regula...ction-214.html. Can anyone verify that this works?

The link says that americans can apply for a visa at the border with the correct paper work.

Or is this old?

And do I have to apply through the online process or through the mail?

Any advice helps.

hermaturia discovered during medicals

Hello... i got a call for e medical on 17th august 2015... during the medicals... some traces of red blood cells where found in my urine (the test was conducted twice). I hope this will not affect the decision of the Visa Officer...
