police clearance certificate from UK

Hi,

I stayed more then 10 months in UK and Currently i am in USA. How to get the police clearance certificate from UK for my 10 months term.

If it was me i would simply contact the local police headquaters in whatever part of the UK it was, and verify your name and all details with them, including where you lived and for how long. They might be able to look up records and hopefully acknowledge you in writing.

If someone else was to know of a better way maybe they could help?.......

I too have similar problem - 5 years of past stay in multiple locations in UK - and now need police clearance certs. from those police jurisdictions - no single service avlbl for this requirement ? Stop press: Does USA Imm.Authority still need these certficates from Mar 2008 onwards ??
