Canadian Girl Wondering About i-94. Please help.

To get a social security number I need an i-94.

I do not want to live full time in the United states. I want to work for up to two months at a time, then go back to Canada for two to three months at a time. I am an exotic dancer and I'm self employed. I love working and living in Canada but am looking for a change.

When filling out the i-94 at the Port of Entry do I need a visa? I plan to have proof of flight on me, to and from the united states. I will of course also have my Canadian passport. I will be able to show where I am staying while visiting the united states.

Basicly i'm asking if I fill in the questions about the visa on the i-94 or am I exempt because i'm Canadian?

What color i-94 form am I looking to fill out? Green or white?

Mytia! It appears to me that your worries are uncalled for. The industry within which you are employed is not regulated or unionized within the US so in the very first instance, an employment authorization may be unobtainable for such work. I was not even aware that you would have to fill out a form 1-94 because you Canadians still receive privileged entry into the US. At some points on the border you are simply required to phone into a US immigrational office and show your passport to a videocapture device and the officer, who is at a remote location simply welcomes you into the US. Of course many take advantage fo this easy entry type and simply drive past the checkpoint because sometimes the phones and devices are unoperational and so forth. Thing is that you may be a bit overconcerned and I advise the recommendations that may be available to you from the managers of the establishments with which you will become employed.
