  • In canada now, need H1B stamping asap

    Hi,
my husband is currently in canada on work and recently we have been told that it is compulsory to get US visa stamped before entering US, becos his older visa got expired and also he has changed the employer.

No dates are available for the next 6-8 weeks , we hv been checking the website nvars.com regularly for all cities in canada. Anybody has any experience like this? typically how long does it take once visa interview is over to get the visa stamped? I am asking because he needs to plan to go to india as soon as i reach USA (within 2-3 days of reaching USA) so we need to book the india ticket and also change our return ticket from here to usa back until the visa gets stamped.

Your post is not clear as to who needs a visa stamp. Whoever needs it, they need to have an appointment and allow 2-4 days (safe side) for PIMS verification and to get the visa back.

You can leave to India from Canada and get it stamped there. The latter part of your post about you coming to US is confusing to me.

I am not a lawyer and you need to consult with one to validate any info posted on the forum and discuss your case specifics. H1b Question? Read the FAQ first.

thanks...actually thats what we hv decided that we will do now, since he cannot enter usa back (we are in canada currently), so he will fly back to india directly and get it stamped over there....
