  • Is change of status enough?

    Hi,

I`m currently in USA in L1B visa. I got my H1b approved on October 2007. Since i did not know that my H1B was approved, i went back to India on Sep 2007 and back to USA on December 2007. Do i need to necesarily go outside the country and come with H1 visa stamped OR can i do a change of status while in USA?

    Thanks in Advance.

I wonder how so many people do not know about the H1b approval? Are these employers spending all these money just to provide USCIS with the funding?

Lemme guess, you paid for the H1b.

I did not pay anything to them. The attorney is supposed to inform but he did not. So, back to my original question, can i change my status

The employer that is eager to fill a position with a H1b employee would have followed up and asked if there was a job that really was awaiting to be filled.

Employer has to file an amendment.
