how long person can stay in visitor visa

Hi ,
My parent got 6month visitor visa.Their visa in passport expiers early then i94 (they come one month after getting visa).How long they will be in status or how long they can stay in usa.Up to expieration of i94 or visa in passport.Please reply me.

As far as I know, it is legal to stay for the term indicated on I94 (usually 6 months). However, if the applicant indicated at the consulate that the inteded length of stay is shorter than 6 months (e.g. 1 month) and then stays for the whole 6 months, there may be a problem with getting a new visa in the future. Consular officers don't like any descrepancies between what's said and done.
