visitor visa duration

My mother has got the visitor visa in which the issue date is Nov 7th and Exp. date is May 6th 2001. My mother is coming to the US only on Dec 27th.

Will she get to stay 6 months from Dec 27th? or will she get to stay only May 6th 2001?

If she gets only 4 months, can we extend the visitor visa?

If we extend visitor visa, will there be any problem in getting another B4 in one year time period? She is planning to come to US in 2002 also.

Also, how can a person manage in immigration (getting I-94) part if they do not speak English? Any workarounds?

Please advise on the above questions.

She will get I-94 stamped for 6 months from the day she enters the US. So you do not have to worry about extension. For language problem, usually the immi. officers do not ask any questions. You can ask her to carry a paper which says that she cannot speak english and that you are waiting outside for her. If they have any questions, they will call you inside the immigration area ( please carry your paasport and visa papers just in case they want to check ).
