Extension of Visitor Visa (with Immigration Filed)

I would like to file for my Mother-in-Law's visa extension and was wondering if the fact that her petition for Permanent Residence is also filed, affect her chances for getting an extension.

She has 10 year multiple entry visa and INS knew about her immigration petition at the time her visa was granted.

If she got visa in the first place, she should get extension also.
