Internship in Canada

Hi,

I have just been offered a four month unpaid internship in Ontario Canada, I am a British citizen with a UK passport. Do I need a specific visa to go and do this unpaid internship? I have been told I can get there on a visitors visa as I do not recieve payment. I have enough funds to survive for four months but just unsure at the moment which visa I need.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I have tried going to the Canadian embassy in London but they were not very helpful, I have to wait 28 days for a response. I assumed I could go on a visitors visa as I could stay there 6 months as a visitor as long as I have proof of funds and somewhere to stay which I have.

Hi, as i understand you dont need visa if you want to saty not more then 3 month in canada . but you are coming for unpaid internship (work), so might b u need Temp. work permit from canadian embassy in UK.

if you are coming as visitor then u r not authorise for work in canada
you need Temp. social insurance Number to work in canada either your paid or unpaid internship.

its better to contact canadian embassy by email form website and they will reply you withing 14 to 21 days.
