US H1 b expiring..So now working from Canada? how?

Hi..Currently I am in the US working for a Bank on H1 B visa. My H1 b visa is expiring in the next 8 months..So my employer is asking me to work from their Canadian (montreal) office.
What is the process for doing this? can someone please guide me...
Am i legally allowed to work from Canada for the same Bank? obviously my employer in Canada will be their Montreal branch..So i have to resign from the US branch and get an employment letter from montreal branch..
