Here’s my story.
I am a Canadian citizen.
I was born in Canada.
I came to the US as a tourist in 1985.
I have lived here in the US since that time.
I never left the US at all.
In 1990, I obtained a Social Security Number.
It is real and it is valid for work.
Afterward, I also obtained a Driver’s License.
From 1985 to 1990, I worked various off-the-books jobs.
I have been working and paying taxes every year since 1991.
I never applied for residency.
This was purely out of neglectfulness.
I wish to become a permanent resident.
NOTE:
I have no direct relatives to sponsor me.
(I have aunt, uncle, cousins.)
I have no employer to sponsor me.
There is nobody that I plan to marry.
I understand that Canadians can not apply under the visa lottery.
I am in my mid 40's [age].
I keep running into dead ends with this question.
Is there any hope?
