I am a Canadian woman married and living in Florida with my husband. Because of some circustances, my application was denied in 2002. I have been living here illeagly since as I haven't been able to find the strenth to leave my husband who I live very much and imigration had not contactred me about any proceedings to leave. Recently, after a cruise to mexico, I was told I was here illegally and am now awaiting to be sent in front of an immigration judge, who will most likely put me in removal proceedings because of my 30 year old pot charge. This is absolutely ridiculous, but it's the law. What I was wondering was, if they send me back, will my husband be able to get in to Canada. I know they have a point system, so will he be able to get in even if he can't pass the points, or will this marriage be over as soon as I am denied access to live here. It makes me sick to think this could happen over something I did over 30 years ago and all I want to do is stay here and live happily with my husband who loves me and needs me. Does anyone have any information they could offer me or a similar experience?? I'd appreciate any help I can get. Thanks. By the way, I'm 57 and have nothing to do with drugs of any kind, nor have I since the 70's.
