Canadian PR married to US citizen.

I am PR of Canada , and have spent 2 yrs out of 5 yr period , also filed my taxes too from past 3 years.

I am married here to a US citizen and have not visited Canada from past 6 mths. I have been out of country for almost 1 year now.

How can I maintain my status. ?

In USA my paperwork is in process for EAD and AP and I-485 .I cant leave USA without AP, otherwise I will not be entered USA again.


I dont want to lose my Candian status , until I get my US greencard, as US laws cannot be trusted

Stay in Canada for 730 days in 5 year period for maintaining Canada PR Status

You need to stay in Canada for more than 730 days during a 5 year period to maintain your permanent resident status.

You need to be stay in Canada for minimum 1095 days in a period of last 4 years preceding date of application to be eligeble for Canadian Citizenship.
