I studied in the US and left in 2001. I have 2 concerns:
1) When I left, I issued 2 checks that bounced (both totalling about $1100).
2) 3 years later I received a package from a lawyer informing me of a lawsuit filed against me on the behalf of an online retailer. I had purchased a laptop (in 2000) and financed it through the retailer, but I had problems with it and my calls to the customer support were not helping. In the end, I requested an MRA (Merchandise Return Authorisation) and never received it, so I packaged the laptop and mailed it back without the MRA and with a letter explaining what happened. I never received anything from them (not even an invoice for the payments). Now back to the lawsuit: I was being sued for that laptop, so I sent a letter explaining what the situation was and what I did and provided my address in y country of residence. Never heard back from them (except for maybe a couple of years later when my landlord emailed me and told me that a package had arrived at my old apartment and it looked like its from a legal firm. I ignored it.
Now, I'm travelling to the US on business in a month. Would those 2 issues come back to haunt me at the airport?
