Job search with expunged misdemeanor conviction as a IT programmer.


I had a misdemeanor conviction 8 yrs back in CA, the record is expunged and I now wanted to get into a job.I want to know the chances of clearing background check with the record expunged. I'm so confused with the comments and blogs on internet, whether it really shows up on background checks after expungement.

Anyone who has misdemeanor expunged in CA, will the case still be shown on county public portal search index as dismissed or the case wouldn't show up at all?

Hi JOBIT ,

I had a DUI recently and I have completed classes, paid fine, etc but I have several months of ignition interlock pending.
I got an internship offer from starbucks (Data scientist role) before the dui and a background check is due this month. Will they deny my job offer based on this DUI?

Extra info : I m on F1 visa and the DUI is 4 months old. this is my first offense.
