I had an arrest record in about 12 years back for DV (false complaint) that went to trial and was found not guilty. Since then I have not had any such issues. I also got my green card about 5 years ago and I went with an attorney for the GC interview. I have my US citizenship interview scheduled in the next few weeks. Do I need to have an attorney represent me or can I do it alone? In avvo the attorneys are recommending me to take one with me but I find the rates outrageously expensive(charging around 2500 dollars). Would I risk anything if I went without an attorney since I got GC approved just 5 years back? Please help!!!
