On behalf of , some one in India lodged a police complaint for property related crime. As usual, big fish vs small fish, police are asking me to come to India to give a statement personally, so that, you know what they could do. stop , harass, false case etc. etc.
1) Can n't we give the same statement overseas in writing to Indian Consular and sent to police in India.
2) What if the person is a becoming a US Citizen soon.
What are the options available for an Indian who became US Citizen to sent the statement via others channels instead of personally going back.
Can someone shed some light on this, if anyone had similar situation , any links to docs also would be helpful.
