My husband applied for his EAD and on November 7th, 2012 it was received by USCIS. All documents were sent, nothing missing, biometrics were completed November 26th. It is now January 4th and we've yet to receive anything. When we check the online status it states the case as still being under "initial review." The case is being processed at the National Benefits Center. Has anyone noticed a trend with cases taking longer than 60 days from this center? He is due to begin work in approximately 10 days and we're "patiently waiting" for the case to appear as "approved" and have the card begin production. Any tips/advice?

    Thanks

i filed my 765 on the 9th of november & did my biometrics on the 21st of november , I have received a letter for an interview on the 29th ( re I-485 ) , but still have not received my EAD either. My case is also in initial review on the website. It hasn't been 3 months as yet though, & they say three months is the maximum wait so i'd imagine we just have a little more wait. There are cases where it comes sooner though, hopefully we'll get lucky, until then i'm also " patiently waiting " .. Best wishes

Yes, "chelle" is right. It's currently taking them (USCIS) approx. 3 months (from the time of receipt) to process & issue EADs, so you may have to exercise a little more patience. It could be sooner, but the way I see things, he can expect to receive his EAD somewhere in early February or earlier.

      Hope the above info helps.

        Ok,

so the I-765 is finally in the approved column!
does anybody know how long it takes from approval (10/1/2013) until he receives his card?

btw....even though we did sign up for email and text alerts we didn't receive a thing but instead found out randomly through checking the cases status online.

        Best wishes!

If its in that stage (approved), you can expect to receive it in the mail within the next couple of weeks or so, but either way there's going to be a USPS tracking info attached to that particular case on the website so you can monitor it while in transit to you.

          All the best.

Now it's finally in the production status. Where would this tracking number be found? How long from when it's in this status does it normally take to receive? Thanks for your help!

Is it true that EAD and AP are now consolidated in a single card with the same validity for both? Anyone seen that?
