EAD Travel Questions

Hi,

I am not sure if the below has already been answered or not but would like a new set of views/opinions on the questions below.

I received my EAD/AP combo card last month for 2yrs(Renewed, originally approved last March), After 4 yrs wait for EAD I would like to make a trip to my country coming months but have few concerns regarding the travel:

1. My H1 is expiring this April and planning to use my EAD from then on. Is it advisable to get H1B extended or just use EAD for travel?
2. I am planning to visit my brother in UK, is it allowed to make a stopover for couple days in a different country other than your home country, someone said purpose of AP is only for emergency visits to ones home country? if yes, is it advisable for me to make a stop over before going to home country or while returning from home country.
3. Has there been any recent incidents involving EAD at the port of entry? like i do have two layers in between my employer and client.
4. What kind of documents will be required for travel with EAD?
