On EAD and out of a job

I am on EAD and have been for about 5 years. Based on situation at work, I may be out of work. I want to find out what the risks of that are. My wife has an EAD as well through me and would like to find out any risks with her case as well.

Also, is there a timeline for when I need to get another job, in case I do end up losing the job without having another offer on hand. I am looking right now, but wanted to find out if I need to compromise on anything to meet that timeline or not.
