EAD and social security number/drivers license.

I recently got my EAD in the mail together with an date in less than a month for myself and my wife, for my adjustment of status/green card interview.
I was wondering if I could get a social security number before my interview? I desperately need to drive and I believe in Massachusetts I need a social to get a drivers license. Any help on what I need to do this would be great, heading to SS office in 2 days.

They didn't also send mine to you did they? They sent my EAD/AP to a random applicant in Massachusetts. In Allston I think. I know it's a long shot but I just had to ask!

SSN is not needed for getting the DL. Visit your state's DMV and they will tell you what they will accept if you don't have SSN. In any case you can get SSN. Go to the local SSA office and they will tell you what all documents you need to apply for SSN.
