Hi,
My wife and I will travel to the US in September, with J-1 (myself) and J-2 (my wife) visas. As soon as we arrive, she will apply for an EAD (since she needs to be physically present in the US to submit this application). My question now is: Is she required to stay in the US during the whole processing time of the EAD application, or can she join me when I travel abroad for a conference? We have visas with multiple entry into US.
