I have pending asylum case in the court. I have had my 2 eads before and this is the application for my 3rd EAD. USCIS received my application on April 7 2014. My EAD expired on June 27 2014. I made a request on June 20 2014 and got reply saying it was under review on June 24 2014. Waited 30 days and opened up anothe request on July 23 for Interim EAD. They have asked me to wait 15 days and if nothing happens contact again. My questions are:
- What will happen if even after 15 days i don't get my IEAD?
- If i get interim EAD, will it be from the June 28 2014 ? And how long interim EAD is valid for?
- Since my asylum case is pending and since this is my 3rd EAD, i know my asylum clock cant be stopped ( no reason any way since i have done everything required by USCIS or Court), I am thinking i am legally able to work and EAD is to only prove to employer that i am legal to work? Like asylum approved person who do not need EAD to work.
Am i correct? By law i think if your status lets you work legally you do not have to have EAD. I do not know if it holds true in my case?
