Failure in submitting the medical report on time.

Hi,
Me and my wife are on EAD/AP currently. We were recently requested for submitting the medical report. I submitted my report. However my wife is currently in India on any emergency visit and she will not be able to provide the medical report in time. I would like to know what will be her status when she returns and what are the next steps should I take.

If going through an Adjustment of Status procedure, and a "Request for Evidence" is received requesting a completed form I-639, for an immigrant medical exam, a deadline will be given to submit the report. If the report is not provided to USCIS by the deadline, the Adjustment procedure is considered "abandoned" and is denied. A "Motion to Reopen" is sometimes recognized, when the evidence is provided, or when reason for not meeting the deadline is provided, but the "Motion" might be a waste of money. In my experience, your best option is to resubmit the I-485 package and do it right the next time.
