No Job for spouse with EAD

Hello friends,

My wife is currently on EAD and lost her job recently. She is trying to find another job right now. Is it required for her to have a job at all times to maintain status or its fine for her to have a break/gap from job?
I am the primary applicant for GC and it has been more than 180 days with I-485 pending. Please advise

She can have breaks in career, her EAD will still be valid.
