Hi,
I am going though EB-2 greencard application and my attorney just
filed adjust of status (i-485) for me and my family. I received the
receipts in letters from USCIS.
Right now I am planning to apply for EAD (i-761), I understand that I
can file it under category (c)(9) (Who have filed for Adjustment of
Status). here are a few questions:
1. My attorney's paralegal told me that the i-761 filing would be free
as it would be coverd by the fee paid for I-485. However I don't see
such statement on USCIS's website (such as in i-765 instructions), is
this true?
2. Is EAD only valid for one year and needs to be renewed anually
until my green card application completes (i-485 approved)?
3. After getting the EAD card, can I switch jobs while not negatively
impacting my i-485 application?
