  • EAD expedite on job offer

    Hi,
Does anyone know how long it takes to get an answer on an EAD expedite request?

    Case received July 8th 2015
    Biometrics July 28th 2015
I phoned USCIS and submitted a Service request to expedite EAD on July 28th 2015
Received email from USCIS that they need further info on why I need expedite July 31st
Emailed my documents of Job offer July 31st

Have heard nothing since. I called USCIS and they told me to wait. In the mean time, I contacted my congressman but have heard nothing from him. I know expedite requests are rarely approved but I am desperate as I might lose this job offer (which is only open until August 24th).

Does anyone have an EAD approved in a timeline shorter that 90 days? This is a first time EAD - not a renewal.
    Thanks!

    Hi,
I am in a similar situation and there is nothing else you can do, but wait. I know it is very frustrating! I just received the Notice of Approval in August 10 by mail. It may take yours a few more days. In some cases that I read, the applicants don't receive their cards until the first date of their jobs.
    Keep us update!
    Jul 1,2015 -- concurrent filing I-485, I-130, I-765, I-131
    Jul 2, 2015 -- package received
Jul 9, 2015 -- received text and email confirming that application is processing
    Jul 10, 2015 -- checks were cashed
    Jul 16, 2015 -- NOA from mail (post mark 7/10/15), biometric appointment(7/31/15)
    Jul 20, 2015 -- walk-in biometric
Jul 22, 2015 -- expedite EAD through phone at 2 pm, RFE at 8:30 pm
    Jul 23, 2015 -- proof faxed

Thanks Tiffany, congrats on getting your approval! What evidence did you provide for the expedite request? I just went to my local congressman's office. Talked to a really nice lady there that will submit a request on my behalf. She doesn't hold much hope though as she says that usually they only expedite in cases of substantial financial loss to the company (rather than the individual). Fingers crossed!

        Decision on EAD expedite

I just received an approval for my EAD expedite request. Although it says that I should receive a notice on this within 45 days (which would be longer than the normal processing time of an EAD). Has anyone else seen a message like this one below?

You or your representative contacted USCIS concerning your I-765 to notify us that you were requesting an expedited review of your case. Below is a summary of what we found and how the issue has been or may be resolved.
We have received the information and/or documents you submitted and found that they meet the requirements for expedited processing of your I-765.
You should receive a decision or notice of further action on your I-765 within 45 days of the date of this letter.

          Hi benchbuddy,

How long did it take to get your EAD after your expedite request was approved? I'm in a similar situation, with a job offer waiting for me and I have biometrics appointment next week.

I know its an old thread, but still I am in need of urgent help.

My husband applied for my h4 EAD in Oct'15 and we got an RFE in Feb'16 to respond with some documents. Even after responding to RFE with correct documents, they denied my application in April'16. We again applied for h4 EAD in may.

I have a pending job offer since March'16 (I requested my future employer to extend my joining date as my EAD renewal is taking a lot of time and for my luck they agreed) which expires in June'16. Meanwhile we contacted congressman office and the staff tried to expedite my case based on job offer. But every-time USCIS responds saying job offer is not a valid reason for expediting and hence denied expedite requests.

Today we talked to local congressman and he suggested to write a letter explaining how loosing this job will cause us severe financial loss (like quoting my husband's salary or how we are unable to pay house rent or something like that). He says this might help but can not guarantee. Now I am wondering how & what to explain in the letter ( though I feel loosing my salary from last 2 months should be a very strong reason for them to expedite, but USCIS doesn't consider that) as my husband earns pretty good.

I really don't want to loose this job (I don't want my career to be stagnant), its perfect and I could rarely find such good jobs in my location for the technological skills I posses. More over we are waiting on EAD since Oct'15 (8months). It's frustrating.

Please help me how you explained reasons for severe financial loss you are facing??

            Thanks in advance.

EAD expedite request on Job Offer...Share if you have a similar case.

              Hello all,
Reading this forum has been very helpful and motivating as we are all in the same situation but at different stages of the process and can, therefore, gain some knowledge from each other’s experiences. My case is marriage-based and I’d like to share my timeframes. Initially, I submitted my I-130 only because I had to apply and get approved the j1 visa waiver.
J1 VISA WAIVER APPLICATION WITH DEPARTMENT OF STATE
Application package received by DOS 2-17-2016
              DOS made favorable recommendation 4-21-2016

              I-130 received 2-16-2016
USCIS received recommendation from DOS on J1 waiver 4-26-2016
              I-485 and I-765 received 5-5-2016
              I-130 approval notice 5-11-2016
              I-485 and I-765 receipt notices 5-12-2016
              J1 Visa Waiver approval notice 5- 18-2016
              Biometrics notice 6-04-2016
              Biometrics completed 6-22-2016
Expedite Request based on job offer for EAD 6-22-2016
              Up-date on I-485 on USCIS website 6-30-2016:
“As of June 30, 2016, we are ready to schedule your Form I-485, Application to Register Permanent Residence or to Adjust Status, for an interview. We will schedule your interview and send you a notice. ”

On July 5, 2016 I called USCIS to find out about my I-765 application and its expedite request because as of today it has not been posted on their website, so I have to way to track any updates. Agent said they mailed me a letter requesting evidence, which I have not yet received, but might come in the mail any time.

I think that my I-130 and I-485 have been processed relatively quickly. However, my EAD application is causing me lots of stress since I have a pending job offer as a teacher to start on August 8 and have no idea how much longer it will take for expedited processing, approval and issue. Anyone with a similar experience? What type of evidence do they ask for? What should be ready with? Please share.

Thank you all for sharing your experiences here. As we do this, we learn and support each other. I will continue to post on my case.

Hang in there you all! It is a matter of time and patience is so much needed.

OPT-Extension Pending status and Expedite Process

                Hi Everyone,

My Friends mother passed away few days back, she traveled home on emergency, She is on her Opt-Ext(24months), her current OPT-Extension is received by USCIS, its been 37days, her initial OPT is expired, She is currently in Project, she has her new i-20 which was issued by college. Her current Client might give her a letter from the company(Not sure).

Does she need her OPT-Ext card to come back into the country? If not, How can she Expedite the process? what are the documents to keep in mind while traveling back?

Thank you everyone for taking you valuable time and replying, please help me out on this. any inputs would be of great help.

                Have a good day!!

                Regards,
                Vikram

I filed my EAD on July 14'2017 and on checking with USCIS yesterday was informed that my application is under process at the California Processin center where their is a long backlog ( currently processing the applications that they received in early April'17). I checked if I could apply for Expedited Processing as I already have a job offer in hand. A SR was subsequently created and I was informed that I would receive an email for further actions soon. I received the concerned mail today requesting me for more documentation/proof as to why my case should be considered for Expedited processing.
I am just about to fax the required documents . Would you suggest how long does it take for the USCIS to revert on whether our application for Expedited Processing is accepted or not.

Looking forward to your help on this.

You actually call customer service and they'll give you a number to fax your job offer. At least that's how they told me when I called.

                              Info pass case expedition

                              Hi all

Just wanted to share my experience i am not sure if this actually expedited case

on day 130 i raised SR and asked a question if the case can be expedited (based on the case is outside processing timeline of 90 days) and it was declined
i was surprised that they took this question as formal request.
I received RFE after 5 months which i responded next day, during this time i received job offer
On day 48 after RFE responded (day 187 since application) i took info pass appointment and explained timelines to officer
the officer was very helpful and agreed to sent job offer to the case processing officer
i was told that it can take upto 14 days for them to decide if case can be expedited.
I never received a formal notification about case expedition but my case was approved after 16 days
Not sure if this is to do with Info pass appointment or it is just a coincident

                              good luck all
