Hi everyone,
I am really concerned about my current EAD case status. The reason being is that the I received the I-766(I-765) application saying that I was approved, but the Post Office failed to deliver my card a few days after this application arrived to my address stating that the address was undeliverable, which I am almost 100% positive it was because my name was not on the mailbox ( The date they attempted to deliver was on September 8,2015). So, I called USCIS in order to find out what was wrong and the person on the phone told me to fill out an e-request to have USCIS to resend my card again. I filled out the e-request form, however I checked my EAD status on September 17, 2015 and it says the following:
On September 17, 2015, the Post Office delivered your new card for Receipt Number ########### , to the address that you gave us. The tracking number assigned is ##########. You can use your tracking number at www.USPS.com in the Quick Tools Tracking section. If you move, go to www.uscis.gov/addresschange to give us your new mailing address.
When I checked the USPS tracking number, I noticed it was the same tracking number as the one which says the address is undeliverable. I only realized that after calling USCIS yesterday asking for assistance on my case. When I called USCIS yesterday, the person on the phone said that I needed to check with the Post Office to see what happened to my card. So I went there today and talked to the Post Office supervisor and she told me that the tracking number was the same as the old tracking number, which indicates that the update on my case status is related to my old card being sent back to USCIS. Tracking down the package through USPS, it clearly shows that the package was delivered back to the USCIS Post Office on September 17,2015 rather than delivered to my address. Now I am really confused because when I check my case status it states the message above that my "new" card for my receipt number was delivered to the address I gave USCIS.
Now I am worried if maybe someone took it from my mailbox or something of this nature since there is a mismatch with the information provided on my case status. In addition, my employer is waiting on this authorization and I am stuck in the middle of the process.
Any help is greatly appreciated,
-Romy
