I-94 EXPIRES WHILE WAITING FOR i-485

I am applying for I-485 thanks to my wife, US citizen. I currently have an H1B good for another year, day for day.
What happens if My I-94 expires prior to receiving my I-485? Should get an AP, leave the country and come back to get a new I-94 and stay legal?

What if with my EAD, I change jobs and loose my H1B? Can I stay in the US? What if I want to travel outside the US?

PLEASE HELP!!! THIS IS A SCARY PROCESS....

I am in the same situation, maybe even more complicated

I entered the US on a J1 visa in Jan. 2005. My I-94 expired on Jul. 2005; I extended my program until 19th of Jan. 2006. Basically, my I-94 expired on July 2005, so did the visa in my passport (even though I had an extension of the exchange visitor program).

I applied for adjustment of status on 5th of Jan 2006 (thanks to my husband, US citizen) and I called USCIS and asked them if it was a problem that my I-94 was expired.

They told me that if I applied for adjustment of status while I was still legally here, there should be no problems.

You can call USCIS yourself and ask them, they are very customer oriented and they will answer all your questions. USCIS phone no. is 1-800-375-5283.

No need to worry about it.

I had a similar situation, I called NCS and they said that it doesn't matter.

I went to interview and the interviewer confiscated my I 94 without any questions about its expiry date.

Since you applied for I 485 you stay legally in the US.

Parolled I-94 Expires

I am on EAD/AP. I went on vacation to India and cameback September,2005. I had a valid EAD/AP until Feb,2006. At the port of entry, the officier has dated my I-94 as Parolled until Feb,2006. Now, that I have renewed my EAD/AP until December,2006. But, just now I noticed that my I-94 date.
What do I need to do now? Should I apply to extend my I-94 too?

As long as you are in US with valid documents there should not be any problem even if I-94 date expires.

I went down to the immigration office and handed me a list of required documents to fill up as well as sending the original I-94w to chicago. So shld i send the original or just the copy?
