Is biometrics needed before getting H4 EAD card !

Hi,
my h4 EAD is approved on June 3rd , 2016.
They said they will send the approval notice through mail..
Is biometrics mandatory for accepting the EAD card ?
If yes , when we need to go for biometrics ?
I am planning to travel to India after getting EAD.
Can I go India taking EAD ?? Or is it mandatory that I should stay back for certain period after
