This form helped me and I thought I would give back. I know how many of us feel wth this whole immigartion process.
02/26/2016- uscis recieved NOA for I-767, I-485 and I-130
03/08/2016- receievd biometrics letter
03/24/2016- went for biometrics. note i tried going earlier but the place in detroit said no!
03/31/2016- asked to expedite case due to finiaical loss
04/7/2016- got a RFE
it was same stuff that was sent dont know why they asked for it again. I replyed back few days later.
In may I got in contact with my local congress which helped immensly. I managed to get a job letter offer.
5/30/2016 - EAD went into productioin
6/6/2016- EAD in hand
Took 102 days to get EAD in hand, would have been few days sooner but memorial day long wkn USPS didnt work.
now some tips:
#1 - I had bad luck with expediitng EAD, congress told me unless you have a job letter from a job that will benefit the american people or organization its really difficult to expedite the EAD card.
#2 - when you go for your SSN , make sure they type is the name exactly as its on your EAD card if not they will have to verify with SAVE in maryland and will take 4 wks to get SSN. Remeber the EAD card is an ID to get a Social security card, your work will not pay you until you have a social securty card.
Dumb I know this whole process is so frustrating and long.
#3- if you go in and your EAD is verifed right away at the social security building, you can go in the next day to get a print out of your new SSN
and in a week the actual scoial card arrives at your house.
I thought being canadian would make this process easier but nope not at all, I even had a Nexus card still didnt help. So guys patience is key and faith. God bless and good luck.
