Hi all, I've been working on my EAD for about 5 years now and have never had problems with renewal in the past. This time however, the one time that I applied a lot more in advance than before, my application has still not been approved. I informed my boss about this who to my benefit is awesome and put me on temporary leave of absence by which I'm unpaid but at least my employer won't terminate me that way.
EAD expired - 7/27/16
I-675 receipt date - 4/25/16
Steps I've taken:
1. Called USCIS at 75 days, opened SR - response just came a few days back saying my case needed additional review, no more information
2. Called USCIS again on 7/25 as it was 91 days then, still waiting for the response there.
3. Had my employer call and claim financial hardship, asking for expedited service. Got a response that it was denied.
4. Called my local congresswoman and her office has sent an email to the USCIS on my behalf - but says it takes 4-6 weeks for response, that's great (not)
5. Went to USCIS local office today, my actual appointment is for next week but hey... I can't go to work so what better can I do today... gentleman there said that without approval letter, they cannot grant me a temporary permit.
6. Today I spoke to an L2 officer on the 1-800 number, he had absolutely no new information to give me.
I have no clue at this point what I could possibly do, no information on what is taking so long. USCIS receipt notice doesn't require me to do anything or give them any additional paperwork... Any advise? Should I get in touch with a lawyer? Any tips would be greatly appreciated.
