Can I request to expedite EAD for J2 applicant under financial loss clause

Hi,

My wife is on a J2 and she is a teacher.
I want to request an expedited service on her EAD because she will lose her job offer as a teacher if she cannot start at the beginning of the year and will probably not be able to work until the following year.
However, my concern is that the prerequisite for J2 EAD is that it is not for financial need - so I am afraid submitting a request to expedite might actually result in a delay/decline of her EAD.
Anyone has any advice/experience with EAD expedition under financial loss clause for a J2 ?

Some more details:
We have submitted her EAD application 2 months ago.
School year starts in a month and there is no way to know if her EAD will be here on time.
Of note, she had an EAD 3 years ago during a previous visit of mine to the US and this time they did not call her in to get finger printed.

u r responsible to financially take care of her...they will deny her and complicate things in the future. if i was her i would just wait. they only way they will grant her if u died or both of u lost ur job and literally living on the street.

So what are we to do if she doesn't get the permit next month when 90 days pass ?

They provide zero information on the phone about the current status of the request, and I doubt they will be more informative in the future.
She was not called in for interview/biometrics (but has done these in 2012 during our previous visit to the US).
