  • Advance Parole - Delays?

    Hi,

I filed for a combo card (EAD & AP) back in April (4/25/2016) with the rest of my AOS packet. After 91 days (7/25/2016) I decided to call USCIS on EAD status. 2-3 day later after I called my EAD was approved and I received the card a few days later(7/30/2016). However, it did not have the AP part on it. So I called yesterday and the officer I spoke with was going to submit a service request for me on my AP, however she said the system wasn't allowing her to submit the request because it said to wait for a period of about 1 month and a half. She stated that if I haven't heard anything by that time to call back.

Has anyone ever experienced this? What does it all mean? All I have pending is my AP and my I-485(AOS) case so far is "ready to schedule for interview" as of 7/27/2016.

    Thanks!

I filed the same thing 2 months ahead of you and for some reason they also gave me an EAD without AP. Anyways, you should be able to file an e-request after 1 month of approval if you still haven't got the document. You can find this information if you go on the USCIS website and click "check your case status".

Also, just out of curiosity to figure out why our EAD was not a combo card, was the EAD card you got valid for 1 year or 2?

      Hi Hazelnutyan,

I check my status on USCIS periodically and for the AP, it has not gotten approved just says that they received the request on 4/25/2016. All my other receipts have been updated but just not the AP. So, I'm just gonna wait the 1.5 months like the IO said to call back on. But its frustrating because the processing time for the AP is 3 months (90 days) and its already been over that time frame.

As far as your question, my EAD is approved for 1 year. How about yours?

      Regards,

      BR

        Update: Advance parole - delays?

I called USICS regarding the status on my I-131 advance parole and the kind officer I spoke to stated that they are currently working on cases received on 4/3/2016. Mine was received 4/25/2016 so to hold just a bit longer.

*Note today is day 143 since they received my I-485, I-131 and I-765. EAD received 7/30/2016, AOS ready for interview as of 7/27/2016.

Hope this puts some ease of mind that are also April filers.

          UPDATE on AP

          Morning,

So back on 9/14/2016 I had called regarding the status on my AP doc due to the time delay and was told that they were working on 4/3/2016 cases and to just wait. Since I still hadn't seen any change on my AP after 171 days on 10/12/2016 I went ahead and called to see if they had advanced a bit. The officer went ahead and was able to submit a service request for me and stated I should hear something back within 15-30 days. Today is day 27 from when they submitted that service request and I FINALLY received the such email they told me I would get.

          Per the email it states:
"The status of this service request is: Due to workload factors not related to your case, USCIS anticipates a delay in completing your case. USCIS is committed to adjudicating immigration benefits in the order received and in a timely and efficient manner. We regret any inconvenience that results from delays in processing."

Well, seems that I will have to continue waiting on my AP after it now being 198 from when they initially received it. I hope that this is somewhat helpful to others that are waiting on their AP and/or EAD also. BTW I did receive my EAD on 7/30/2016 (96 days from when they received my application for it).

          Best wishes to all.
