  • Where to file H4 EAD| I-140 receipt number starts with SRC

    Hi,
My wife wants to apply for her H4 EAD however we are confused about where to file her H4 EAD.
I got my I-140 approved last month and its receipt no starts with SRC, but USCIS website does not list these alphabets in instructing where to file for H4EAD.

This is link that I am looking into

Am I supposed to look somewhere else. It would be very helpful,if someone could guide us.

On the link you quoted it says the following:

"H-4 spouse of an H-1B nonimmigrant, and the receipt number of your H-1B principal spouse’s most recent Form I-797 Notice of Approval for Form I-129 begins with EAC or LIN", File at ...........

    Or

"H-4 spouse of an H-1B nonimmigrant, and the receipt number of your H-1B principal spouse’s most recent Form I-797 Notice of Approval for Form I-129 begins with WAC", File at ..........

So you need to choose the receipt number of your (H1B holder's) receipt (form I-797) related to the form I-129. Not the form I-140.

Thanks Raza1 a lot for your reply. I actually had called USCIS customer care and asked them where to file with my I140 receipt number and they told me to file to Texas, which is also correct according to the receipt number on I-797 of my I-129. So that worked well but as I kept thinking everything is based upon I-140, I have mistakenly have put receipt number of I-797 of I-140 in eligibility criteria question. This is a big mistake I guess and I do not know how to proceed now. I tried recalling my package from Fed-Ex but they have already delivered it earlier than expected.

What are my options now? I am going to call USCIS tomorrow but also wanted to see what others think here on Immihelp.

You can always call USICS customer service, but usually if you forget something they send you a request for additional evidence and you can always correct the mistake at that time. This will however delay your case processing by a few days.

          Thanks Raza1.
I am going to call USCIS tomorrow and ask them if we can do something about it now or need to wait until we get an RFE from them.

Thanks a bunch for your reply
